Prolificacy of lament
Prolificacy of lament
by Joel Howard
How lament laments
How prolific she is
Weeping every day
If we would give her way
Many her woes
Not few, her sighs
Drenched and stained
From tears, her eyes
Daily bearing
Jesus' caring
Indicates to me
Lament's prolificacy
Fear makes me
And generations before
Want to wait
Once in a lifetime, implore
But one who cries
Waits not to die
A good shepherd sighs
Right by our side
Why wait to weep?
Why stay here, unbelieving?
Fast, weep and mourn
Heart's garments torn!
Fast, weep and pray
Jesus may have his way
If we align today,
Give lament her way
