Inner safety

The world roars aloud - it yells at me

But You dwell within - inside of me

Taunting, the world derides now me

But You've given me inner safety

The shadows of death encompass me

The torrents of evil are overwhelming

But Mighty is God who comforts now me

He dwells within - and gives me safety

Trials and lies breathe urgently

Staying the proud - gripping the weak 

Yet Jesus is kind, and assuages me

His Spirit renews daily, nightly

The God who holds all the pieces indeed

Is He who completes all my necessities

The Spirit alive - the Spirit in me

Is always, yes always, my inner peace
