It's a command, you know
Don't go fast
Please go slow
Find rest, O my soul
In your only God
Your only hope
Make space for God instead
Of only trying to get ahead
My soul, O my soul!
Just rest
Flying high as the sky
On wings of eagles
That am I
When I recall what God has done
When I rely on Christ the Son
Story goes: God has a place
He's preparing now
He's made away
Rest my soul
Rest today
Just rest!
It's hard, I know
To command what's ever-moving
To go slow
Be kind, my soul
To that which God is kind now to
Make space for letting go
Find refuge in His walls

Kindness towards ourselves
Is far much more difficult
Than masking all our hurts
And flattering the world
Sit still, my soul
