War, fire and battle
War, fire and battle
by Joel Howard
As the parade marches forth
I bow down
As the show goes on
I bow down
On my face
I hear the children testify,
"War, fire and battle"
Lord, my people have been in slavery
Lord, my people in a fog
We are caught in a spirit of silence
And kept from supplication!
I hear the children cry out,
"War, fire and battle
War, battle and fire"
As one by one they testify
Some dismayed and in silence
While leaders, puzzled, together sigh
I hear the children testify,
"War, fire and battle
War, battle fire
War, fire and battle"
And on my face am I
