The suprising joy of being called "little children"
The surprising joy of being called "little children"
by Joel Howard
"My little children, for whom I am again in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you!" Galatians 4:19 ESV
The insignificant significants
The small but great
The lowly but high
A little child am I
Beneath, but high above others
The fact that you call me friend
Completely submissive -yet completely impressive
A child, the one you defend
Helpless yet especially helpful
Only a part but grand
Unique but just like everyone else
Lowly, I can't help myself
Out of control yet choosing
Nothing to give but my love
At the mercy of what you offer
And what you give is enough
The joy of being called little
And the joy of being called child
So peripheral yet oddly central
Unable to move yet fully responsible
At the mercy of your help
And what you say as well
Lowly, meek and mild
I am your little child
