The cause of sin is not showing up.
So to perpetuate a sin
by hiding
is like pressing the x-squared button
on sin's calculator over and over again,
multiplying our indebtedness to God.

Every moment running or hiding
after tasting the forbidden fruit
intensifies our iniquity.
So the sooner we make amends and
show up before reality,
the better.

God is already "looking"
for us as he was with
Adam and Eve.
