Clinging to Christ while under accusation
Clinging to Christ while under accusation
By Joel Howard
When I am pressed
to make a defense
to take the reigns
to shift the blame
When others come together
that I might fail
Can I, like Christ
Choose silence?
When demands arise
On every side
When with great passion
My enemy fashion
Such accusations
Mocking me vehemently
Can I, like Christ
Choose silence?
With nothing to prove
Nothing left to lose
The world has no more hold
On my weary soul
My silence is a protest
Before the Father I am subject
Come what may
Say what they say
I choose His rest
Like Christ, I choose silence
